It’s easy to update your Church’s page, add your Church Events and your Church’s News
YOUR CHURCH PAGE: TO UPDATE IT – whenever you like
- Click ‘Find a Church’ on the home page, and find your church’s page
- Click ‘Update this Record’ at the bottom of the screen.
- Log in using your user name and password
(If you haven’t got these details, contact the portsmouthchurches.co.uk’s Site Manager by using the Contact Us form on the website, and request it.)
- Once logged in, you can type in info into all the sections on your page, or ‘unselect’ any sections you don’t want to show on your page. You can make words bold, or italics etc as you wish.
- Then ‘Preview’ the page, adjust your content as often as you wish, before submitting. You can always amend it later in the same way.
- Upload 4 images – of any size - of your church / church activities that you have stored on your PC. It’s very easy.
- Your Updates are then made live by our Admin team – so allow 24 hours to see them on your page.
CHURCH EVENTS: TO ADD YOUR CHURCH EVENTS – whenever you like, as far in advance as you like, and add ‘ repeat’ events in one go.
- Click ‘Find a Church’ on the home page, and find your church’s page
- Click ‘Update this Record’ at the bottom of the screen.
- Log in using your user name and password
(If you haven’t got these details, contact the portsmouthchurches.co.uk’s Site Manager by using the Contact Us form on the website, and request it.)
- Click ‘Church Events’ in the top blue bar.
- Complete the screen
- Give your own email address as the ‘Event Organiser’, at this stage. You will then receive the Activation email to click. The Admin team then makes the event live – so allow 24 hours.
- Later on you can log in again and put in the actual Event Organiser’s email address, if you wish. They will then get any emails from the members of the public about the Event, rather than you.
CHURCH NEWS: TO ADD YOUR CHURCH’S NEWS TO THE SITE
TO BE SEEN IN: THE ‘NEWS’ SECTION
AND IN THE 'CHURCH NEWS' BOX at the top left of YOUR CHURCH’S PAGE
- Go the home page of the website.
- Click ‘News and notices’
- Select ‘News’ from the dropdown.
- Select ‘News’ again.
- On this form, select your church’s name from the dropdown.

Upload an image that is already stored somewhere on your PC, by ‘browsing’ to find it and double clicking on the name of it, to upload it.

Give your own email address in the Email field. You will then receive the Activation email to click.

In Contact Name - put your name; In Email - put your email address; in Subject - put the headline of your story; in Summary - these few lines will appear under your headline in results of searches; Message/News - type in your story, or copy and paste in plain text from 'notepad'. To find 'notepad' on your computer, left click on Start, click Run and type in notepad in the field and click OK. (Do not paste direct from a word document.)

Click ‘Submit’

You will receive an email in a few seconds. Click the blue 'Activate' link in that email.
- Wait 24 hours max, for our Admin team to see it and make it live. It will seen in the News section, and in the blue box on your Church’s page.

A All material is monitored by the website Admin team and then 'approved' and activated on the site - usually within 24 hours. Check that you have clicked the 'Activate' link in the email you will have received.
