Martin Shaw Of Success In Cycle Marathon
30 Apr 2009
All that Mick Mellows the National Director of Faith & Football said was that the Charity can always do with more funds to help with the work. The next thing is mad Martin Shaw buys a highflying bike off ebay and announces he's cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats as a fundraiser.
You can imagine how Mick felt – first of all relieved at not being asked to do it as well. - Then a mixture of gratitude and trepidation, the latter when Martin announces that he is going on his own, hasn't got any accommodation and he only has a map showing the "Little Chefs" of Britain.
Martin travels to Land's End on May 7th so that he can start his epic journey in support of F&F. Mr Shaw is the F&F Director of The Baffins Community Football League and has been an inspiration as he has carried the vision forward building relationships with kids and families and kick starting their journey of faith towards God.
The economic climate may look bleak and many of us receive many requests for financial support but God loves a cheerful giver and if the thought of Martin on his bike doing an average of 60 miles per day for 14 days doesn't bring a smile to your face nothing will!!
